Neptune takes 165 years to transit all 12 signs of the zodiac. It is the second slowest moving planet and it spends 14 years in one zodiac sign. Neptune began a new cycle when it entered Aries in 1861.




Neptune in Aries: 1861-75


Neptune in Aries idealised the notions of nobility, strength, courage, masculinity and independence. These transits marked a time when violence and conflict was glamourised as exemplified by the American Civil War and Reconstruction. This placement brought individualistic idealism and the notion of the spiritual warrior.

This placement served the illusion that innovation and technology could unite society.
