On 29th January 2025, the North Node entered Pisces whilst the South Node entered Virgo. The North Node represents an area of increase and the South Node subsequently shows an area of decrease. When the North Node is in Pisces, this marks a time in which we must trust our emotions, intuition and imagination. The South Node in Virgo demands that we let go of perfectionism, overanalysis and rigid routine. The North/South Node will be in these signs for 18 months, here are the dates:

The South Node in Astrology:

The North and South Node transited the Aries and Libra axis from 12th July 2023 to 29th January 2025. This brought a decrease in Libra themes: peace, balance, harmony and diplomacy and a subsequent increase in Aries themes: individualism, war, conflict and impulsiveness. This is best exemplified by the Israel-Gaza conflict which began on 7th October 2023 when Hamas launched a large-scale surprise attack on Israel. This led to a significant deterioration in diplomatic relations (South Node in Libra). The Russia and Ukraine conflict also accelerated in 2024.

The North Node in Aries brought an increased focus on personal sovereignty, national self-interest and direct action. Rhetoric regarding defence, autonomy and agency (North Node in Aries) coincided with less patience for diplomatic delays or complex treaties (South Node in Libra). Aries is associated with clashes, aggression and disagreements, the Israel-Gaza conflict and the Sudanese Wear led to failed peace talks (South Node in Libra).

North Node in Pisces, South Node in Virgo:

From 29th January 2025 - 18th August 2026, 18-month-long period of increased conflict, war and individualism and decreased peace and diplomacy. As the North Node enters Pisces and South Node enters Virgo, we become more focused on spiritual growth, emotional healing, imagination, empathy and compassion and less focused on analysis, critical thinking and perfectionism. Pisces represents the ability to connect with intuition and trust our inner guidance, however, it can also lead to idealisation, confusion and escapism.

North Node in Pisces:

During the current North Node in Pisces transit, we may see an increased focus on mental and emotional health. However, we may also see a growth in spiritual escapism, for example, astrology, tarot, meditation etc being used as a distraction from real-world responsibilities.

This transit will blur boundaries between the mind and body, holistic wellness practices such as yoga and art therapy will rise. Pisces is also associated with escapism so issues concerning alcohol, psychedelics and medication may surge.

Pisces is associated with fluidity, flow and embodiment so expect self-care to become a focus, this will feel like a sacred devotion. The North Node in Pisces pulls the attention to surrender: water will be used to heal, think soundbaths, saunas etc. We must reckon with what true healing looks like, we should balance rest with productivity and address emotional trauma and wounds.

The Pisces realm of water can be associated with rising sea levels, migration, and refugee crises. Expect displacement of migrants to increase even more, especially in countries that are suffering through climate catastrophe, draughts and flooding.

South Node in Virgo: 

The South Node in Virgo transit challenges the notion that healing and self improvement requires a checklist. We are asked to release perfectionism, control and to let go of the notion that our worth is based on productivity and work.

This transit asks us balance routine with emotional healing and care. More negatively, this transit may coincide with a decrease in critical thinking, organisation, discernment and objective fact.

Virgo is connected to logic, practicality, systems and details. This corresponds with collective patterns of release and decline in areas of labour, medicine, public service and order. It can also correlate with distrust in healthcare, understaffing and mismanagement.

The South Node in Virgo brings a shift away from evidence based health care, "wellness" influencers may challenge mainstream health advice. The Virgoan themes of science and medical data will decrease in favour of increased interest in spiritual healing (North Node in Pisces).
